Components

As listed in the rig record, top to bottom.

  1. Main line through a bullet weight, pointed end toward the hook
  2. Hook (usually offset worm/EWG style) rigged weedless — point tucked back into the soft-plastic body

Setup

Hook
An offset worm hook or extra-wide-gap hook, rigged so the point tucks into the plastic and rides weedless through cover.
Weight
Bullet weight sized to the cover density and fall-rate you want — lighter for a slower fall in open water, heavier to punch through thick vegetation.

How to fish it

The standard weedless soft-plastic presentation for fishing worms/creature baits through grass and brush without constantly snagging — cast into or along cover and work it slowly.

When to use it

  • Lily pads, grass, laydowns, and brush where anything exposed snags
  • Summer bass buried in cover through the middle of the day
  • Stained blackwater where a bulky bait fishes by feel

Variations

Freshwater finesse rigs: the same idea, adjusted

Rigs drawn from the same schematic family — heavier, lighter, or with one part changed for a different fish or water.

Spots marked “species match” document a fish this rig is for and the way it is fished — a place to try it, not a report that it has been fished there.
