How to fish it

Drop it near pilings or wherever small baitfish are showing and jig gently — it's common to catch several small spot or croaker at once for use as live/cut bait on another rig.

When to use it

  • Pilings, bridge shadows, and bait balls showing on the surface
  • The first half hour of a trip, stocking the live well before the target fish
  • Slack or light current so the string of hooks hangs straight
